Becoming A "Couple of Promise"
A "Couple of Promise" we all want to be ~
Partners in marriage must learn to agree.
Communicate feelings and verbalize thoughts,
Practice commitment, which God's Word has taught.
What "ticks men off", and, "What makes them tick?"
Respond tenderly to the spouse that you pick.
God uses people to help us to grow ~
Genesis 2 speaks of "helpers", you know.
Differences can unite us if we both truly seek
To honor one another, and kind words are what we speak.
Women want men tuned into their needs,
While men favor physical thoughts, words, and deeds.
Affirm and encourage; spend quality time.
Little gifts - (for no reason) - bring pleasure sublime.
Our needs are quite different, but needs can be met,
If harmonious marriages we hope to get.
Women are "crock pots", while men are aflame ~
So, balance your thermostats; never cast blame!
Idiosyncrasies take a back seat ~
Forgive one another, don't practice deceit.
Choose commitment and character;
Trust the Lord, and believe.
A happier, healthier marriage
Is the blessing you'll surely receive.
